A Jolly Jones Christmas!

Christmas morning started a little later than usual! For the first hour or so it was just me and this little smiley girl up and ready to go!
If this face doesn't scream Christmas morning I don't know what does!
When I grew up I was always the first one up, begging and pleading with my brothers and parents to wake up! I vividly remember overlooking the living room from the upstairs and amazed at all that Santa had done the night before! Looks like Reese, the youngest so far might be just like Mommy! This Christmas was such a special treat for Kevin and I as we got to see the excitement of Christmas threw Addison's eyes! Although they are still too young and don't understand the meaning of Christmas I want our kids to enjoy this day like Kevin and I did as kids.  Not only the gifts of course but to remember that Jesus was born on this special day! Here are a few pictures and highlights from our house!
Daddy loves his candy!
I think Addison is following in his footsteps because before I knew it she was hoarding some Jolly Ranchers and snacks in her new tent!
We got a kick out of her opening her gifts. It seemed that with each new item she opened she would want to wear it! I should have taken a picture when she had all three tutu's on, but these will have to do!

Reese played it cool next to her new tummy time toy! Thanks to Leonor!
and this tunnel... who knew it would be such a hit!
But I think this was the best...Breakfast anyone?!?
Addie loved her new kitchen! Great work Daddy, you definitely get all the credit for this one!
And if Reese could say thank you, should would too!
Happy 1st Christmas Reese!
What a morning! I think Reese had the right idea... but now it was off to Grandma's and Grandpa's!...
An old family tradition is to have eggs benedict for Christmas Day breakfast, We arrived just in time to get our fixings and then it was time to open gifts. Little did Kevin know but he was going to have to put one more thing together that my parents got Addison!
But I think it was worth it because..... She was born to ride!
If you look closely she is wearing three outfits, two new shirts, a dress, and a tutu! She sure loves to wear all her clothes right when she gets them!
With so many people and lots to open we take our time and like to watch everyone! The only time limit was that the Laker game started at 2! Other than that we laugh and watch as the giver explains the present and the receiver opens it with anticipation. You quickly forget the hustle and bustle it took to get or make that "perfect" gift and at last you can enjoy yourself!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
We truly did have a wonderful holiday and we hope that you and your family enjoyed time together as well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! xoxox

A Picture Says a Thousand Words....

This is a picture of a man who loves his little girls. He loves them so much that he would stay up hours to make them smile without complaining a bit! He put in over 80 hours this week at the hospital but you wouldn't ever have known it. He can build anything and proved it this Christmas Eve night.
With a well deserved glass of wine in one hand and a screwdriver in the other he bolted his way into making the most fantastic play kitchen that I have ever seen! The anticipation of what Addie will do when she puts her eyes on this is priceless!
Great Job Daddy! One down and one to go. Reese was next and her gift took just as long to put together. I am very thankful to have such a handy husband! Santa would be very proud!
And speaking of Santa it is now 2:00 a.m. and time for all his helpers to say Good night!

Christmas Eve Celebration!

Let the festivities begin! Smiling babies - check!
Happy Grandparents - Check!

and a relaxed Mommy and Daddy - check plus!

With all of these happy faces it could only be Christmas Eve at the Omer's. This year was extra special because both my Grandmothers and Auntie Karen and Uncle Martin flew down from Canada to spend the holiday in California!

Also traveling from a distance was Chris and his girlfriend Anja who came down from Seattle. ( I am not blaming them for bringing the rain but I am just saying it was 80 degrees the week before..) This was my first time meeting Anja and was everything and more that Chris had described. She was kind, funny, a great cook, and fit right in with the Omer clan.. and I think Addie and Reese found  a real friend in her and  would have loved to go back with them! It was really neat to finally meet Anja and we look forward to visiting them in the Spring or Summer!
The night is hard to recap because there were so many special moments. We had a fantastic homemade meal that was delicious! Thank you to all the hands that prepared it! Don't let this picture fool you, the girls did most the work :)

We also had lots of treats for dessert! This is a pie baked from scratch by Anja! It not only looks great but it tasted wonderful!
It was so much fun watching Addie play, dance, and laugh her way from one person to the next. With so many hands it was a night off for Kevin and I and we were able to catch up and chat with Adults without worrying about the happenings of the girls! Although at some point in the night a certain somebody was caught being a little "naughty"and tried to open a few presents before the big day! I wonder who that could be? Look closely she blends in very well!
But luckily she was soon distracted by the arrival of....
Mrs. Claus!!!
Yes that is Mrs. Omer to-be in her best red and white attire! She figured Addie was scared of the big guy so why not try Mrs. Claus! And it worked Addie was a big fan! Thank you Auntie Magee!
After dinner and dessert the party continued upstairs where we sang carols and danced to the merry music from the piano, thanks to Grandma Dot (and at times her Great Grand-daughter)
Everyone participated in the singing !
What a great time!

I wonder where Addison gets her love of dancing from?
Magee's Mom Jeffrey and Step-Dad Pete also joined in on the fun!

Christmas Eve was all about family, friends, food, and great music. It was a magical evening, although we missed everyone in Fresno, it was a very memorable night ! Typically we would go to the midnight service at church but this year Kevin and I attend the family one at 4:00 because we thought it would be to late for the girls. It turned out to be the right decision because after leaving the party Santa's little elves were up very late helping prepare for the big day! Addie and Reese we love you very much and can't wait to celebrate Christmas Day with you! Looks like there was still time for Addie to be a little naughty to her sister...
Good thing she made up for it with a nice kiss and hug!!
Nighty Night you two :)
