5 under 4!

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to have five kids?!? Well this past weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming the Oppenhuizen family and their good friends Amanda and Joe to our house!! Although they were on their way to the Happiest Place on Earth for a couple of days they made a stop to stay the night with us!! and boy did we enjoy it..... Here is a group shot of the good looking gang!
Amanda and I met in college and have become great friends over the years. We have shared so much, weddings, babies, bible study, PWI (pizza, wine, and ice cream nights) and roommate breakfast! She is one of those friends that your house doesn't have to be perfect for or she would be perfectly happy with eating mac and cheese for dinner. She is easy going, fun loving, and I could talk to her for hours (and we did)! Life has brought us both not only fantastic hubbys that have their own little bro-mance going on, but now our kids love love love to play with eachother!! Can you see the love?
This was taken after going up and down the stairs about a bizillion times and running to her bed to play on! Smiles all around :)
Bath time was triple the fun with this duck, pig, and frog!
I think this next picture was taken perfectly - My dancing little Monkey is caught in the act doing a little dance on Mommy and Daddy's bed!
Silly Kids!
This was also special because we got to meet the newest addition to our "big 40 family" This is Piper Kate and she is a sweet, sleepy, smiley, and happy baby! We were over the moon to meet her!
Reese also got to meet the crew and enjoyed some loving from her Auntie! (and yes that is Dr.Jones in the back cooking breakfast!)
This car was a hit with Tad! Who knew a loud and moving Disney car would be so loved with this little boy! Can't wait for Addison to be able to reach those petals!
I know I have posted in the past but Dr.Jones makes a mean pancake. He has the magic touch and was put in charge of breakfast and he did not disappoint, in fact he showed off a bit.
He made cows and of course Mickey Mouse for our Disneyland bound friends. I was highly impressed and so were all the kids!
This new trick I think was taught from some certain boys because my angel would never have thought to do this by herself....
Here the Dads are enjoying their coffee, catching up, and teaching the kids how to ride their cars!
A peaceful ride turned into Bumper cars very quickly.... and it wasn't the kids idea!
Then the Dads decided to be adventurous and take the fearsome threesome for a nature walk at Oak Park near our house. We love this peaceful hidden gem. It is walking distance and definitely a favorite place of ours.
What a great friend - I can only imagine what these two are chit-chatting about!
definitely developing a good relationship!
and we can't wait for these little sisters to grow up together too!
Thank you Amanda and Greg for stopping by with kids and all. We enjoyed your company more than you know! Amanda and Joe were so fun also to be around and we were so excited to celebrate their engagement. Love you guys xoxoxo
Bye Bye!!! We waved and waved and can't wait to see this family again. Ohh wait, we will see you this weekend on our way up to Davis! Twice in one week is truly a blessing!

Happy Friday!

My favorite day of the week! Its not only my easiest day for teaching but just knowing that by 2:45 in the afternoon I will be home and with my babies is the best!! Our plan for the 3-day weekend is to go visit Daddy in Palm Springs for breakfast tomorrow, and then weather permitting stop by the outlets to "window shop" on the way home. Kevin has started his one month stay at Desert Regional Hospital and we miss him terribly. Luckily he is able to come home every 3-4 days and spend time with us... Other than that we will be keeping warm in the house, catching up on some February craft projects, scrapbook (I am so behind... just doing Halloween now) and watch a movie or two. Hope you enjoy your long weekend with your families and that we are all able to enjoy a little sunshine! xoxoxxo

Birthday at the Beach!

Even though we just traveled an hour and a half south to San Diego it felt like we were thousands of miles away from our life in Anaheim Hills! We stayed at the Ocean Park Inn, recommended by Uncle Sammy-D and it was perfect!
The boardwalk was right outside our patio and was easy access to the beach.  Nothing like a nice breeze and fresh ocean air to help us relax.
It was so nice to have family time! We snuggled, walked, played, giggled, and loved up our little girls! As you can imagine life as a Resident Doctor can be very demanding and Kevin puts 100% into everything he does. We are super proud of him but miss him terribly when he is gone. So that just makes family time that much more special! The pictures below are in no particular order just some great moments that we shared with the girls.

Addison's new view of Daddy in the ergo!

Playing on the playground, walking on the beach, life doesn't get any better with these two cuties!!

I didn't want you to think that we didn't have other moments... like this one. Kevin and I learned this weekend that these two rather be held or free to walk around then be in a stroller. Made the long walks even longer!
When we did let Addie out to walk she would stop, sit, and watch all the people go by. It was really cute the first 10 times she did it but after that not so much! And yes that is the penguin she is clutching with all her might! Love this face!
We had a wonderful trip celebrating a great husband, father, doctor, and friend!
Happy Birthday Kev heres to a wonderful new year!!
Had to leave you with this picture.... What in the world is she thinking? and who does this picture remind you of?!?

New Toy!

Love new toys, new discoveries, and new ways to keep this little girl busy!!

Sea World !!

Wow! A good friend once said that traveling with kids isn't a vacation, it's a trip! Well I know what those Dubost jets-etters were saying. It was 3 days full of fun, smiles, tears, singing, snacks, dance, caffeine, walks, swimming, diapers, dessert, shopping, and that is only the beginning. We had a fantastic get-away and here are a couple of the highlights from Day 1! Our first stop was Sea-World!
Who is excited for some fun?!?
Our first stop was the Sea-Lion show. Both Kevin and I remember coming to this show when we were kids. The star of the show was named Seymore the Sea-Lion and boy was he talented! The show did not disappoint and our little Addison was amazed! I have never seen her eyes so big and her sit so still. Perfect way to start the day!

Who knew we would find Elmo at this magical place.. At first Addison was not having any part of Elmo and Bert ....  but
once the tunes of Sesame street came on these two danced their little hearts out. Addison copied everything he did. It was hilarious :) Ms. Leslie her dance teacher would have been very proud.
It was a day of first... This was her first flying ride. I think we are getting ready for our big trip to Disneyland on her Birthday! She passed with flying colors and was a huge fan of this flying Elmo.
Next it was time to see the Penguins.
and the Jones girls love Penguins!! and prepare yourself for the next picture.. because only my princess would want..... wait for it....
a hot pink purse that comes with a Penguin!
Boy is this Daddy in trouble in a couple of years. Love little Addie's face in this picture. When I asked her to take it she went right over and put her hand on his shoulder, what in the world have I created?!?
Although we did miss the dolphin show we were right on time to see Shamu! We didn't sit in the splash zone but did enjoy watching everyone else get wet. When I was a kid I vividly remember my Dad saying that it was ok to sit in the splash zone because there was no way we would get wet. Well we did and that was the last working day of our family video camera. We weren't about to make the same mistake with two little babies!!
This was a late in the afternoon show and by the end Addison was ready for a nap and to say good bye to all her new Sea World friends! But the great news is that if you buy one day you can enjoy the entire year for free!! So we will definitely be back - possibly with some fellow blog friends (any takers?!?)
