High-Low: Beginning of Summer Style

High: Yieppee Summer Break has officially started and that means I am home with my girls! And look how much they have changed since December!
Now
Low: The end of school was a little hectic because not only am I switching job assignments but my school is moving back to its campus. That means packing up my whole classroom and going through all my things. I can't believe how much stuff I have in only 6 years of teaching. I will blame some of that on my Mother-in-Law because I have inherited incredible things from her, but nevertheless packing is never fun. I did manage to donate a ton of stuff to Leonor's childcare and I only brought 7 boxes home. Kevin said that was 7 to many!
High: I am getting great at multi-tasking and can put the kids in the car now in a jiffy.
Low: Sometimes I go toooo fast and place things up on top of my car and forget that they are there. For example my phone. Yep drove down the road and it fell off. Luckily I heard something. Unfortunately, I didn't know it was my phone at the time and couldn't find anything on the road.
High: Yeahh!! A couple of kids found my phone and their mom called me using my phone later that night. (That is when I found out that it was missing). I was so relieved!
Low: Although we talked once, our connection got interrupted and then when I called back they stopped answering MY phone. :( Boo on dishonest people!! (and no I never found out who had it)
High: Addison learned a new word: Truck
Low: It doesn't at ALL sound like Truck (use your imagination) and she uses it ALL the time when in the car or out in public.
High: Another fun word that Addison loves is "sit" and when shopping in the grocery store she loves to sit in the great big obnoxiously wide car cart and watch Mickey Mouse.
Low: Today while checking out our items at Vons she really wanted to get back in the great big "car" grocery cart and started yelling "sit, sit!" as loud as she could. Only it sounded like "sh** and it caught me SO off guard that I along with every other person close by thought she was really saying that bad word. I freaked and started saying even louder so everyone knew that my daughter was Not cussing, "ohh you want to SIT!!" I might have turned bright red and wanted to die right there on the spot.
High: Uncle Chris drove his new VW wagon down from Seattle to surprise Billy with their  wheels for the Bachelor Trip.

Low: Billy thought Chris got him a new car - hahaha...only Billy would think that. But it was an awesome surprise and something they will use to cruise up the coast this weekend and celebrate Billy's upcoming wedding.  With just the guys on board I as in-charge of making signs.

High: We had a family dinner and it was great to visit and catch up! Addison and Reese love time with their Uncles and family.

Low:  Addison did not want to leave and cried herself to sleep on the ride home.
High: Went to Costco and was in and out in 15 minutes only spending $19.00
Low: In an effort to save time - the workers took my card and put it ahead of my things. They say they are trying to be more efficient. WRONG!! When it was my turn 45 seconds later they had lost the card and told me I needed to go to membership and get a new one. Awesome. I was super annoyed, late for a party, and wanted to cry. Aren't us moms allowed a tantrum every once in a while!
High: Kevin and I had a date night to the U2 concert. Sam and Heather got Kevin tickets for his 30th Birthday! It was amazing! I am not going to lie. When Kevin told me we were going I sang a UB40 song rather than U2, but it was an awesome concert and so nice to get out just the two of us!
High: Sharing a room for two kids is super convenient.  All the clothes are right there, it is a pretty spacious room, and the girls are interacting more and more with each other.
Low: They WAKE each other up... not always, but enough times where I wish we had a bigger place!
High: Both girls have great naps during the day.
Low: Its not always at the same time
High: The people who work at our local donut store know me and the girls by name.
Low: I think that means that we go there to much! But I do have a trick. Addison either gets 1 donut hole or I ask them to cut a donut in half and put it in two bags. This way she only gets half and doesn't realize there was every anymore.
High: Addison learned how to talk on the phone while driving.
Low: Mommy did that too and got a ticket.
High: Being at home means I don't have to pump anymore at Work! And a plus is that Reese still doesn't have any teeth.
Low: I have to puree everything still so it is perfect for our little toothless princess
High: Addison and Reese have been helping me bake in the kitchen.
Low: It means that they have double the energy after having a cupcake or cookie!
High: I mentioned earlier in another post that we have been doing a lot of hiking. This has definitely been a lot of fun!
Low:  However, when out with my family we came across a lizard. Addison was very scared and wanted nothing to do with walking on the trails after that. Later in the week we saw another one on our porch and now Addison "thinks" she sees lizards everywhere!! Even in her playroom.
High: Addison loves to count and is getting good at singing her abc's. She is a quick and fun little learner
Low: She does not know her colors. We have ooddles of books in our library but she is having a hard time with the concept. She has yellow, blue, and her favorite color GREEN down.
High: I am super motivated to run a half-marathon
Low: I have only run as far as 3 miles so far!! :(
Best High: A lot of family time together! I love being at home and I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. I enjoy being the one to tuck them in for their nap, have tea parties, play at the park, read books, and play outside for hours. I love hugging and kissing them whenever I want and teaching them new things each day! June has rocked and I look forward to July in a couple of days!

A Hiking We Will Go!

We knew when we bought our home that there was a nature center close by. What we didn't know is that there was a short cut to the trails about 100 feet from our front door. These summer nights are perfect for enjoying nature and spending time as a family. This was Reese's first time in her knew digs and although the hat didn't stay on for long, the backpack was a huge hit! * P.S. The doctor said no camera on our adventure but next time I will sneak it! *

Daddy's Day!

Daddy and his girls!
Happy Father's Day to a dad who is not afraid to have a tea party, read pinkalcious each night, and play kitchen during cooking time. You are patient and helpful and the girls are so lucky to have such a great Dad. You read, bathe, cuddle, and spoil these two girls each and every day. Addison loves to spend time with you and is your go to helper especially outside with all your work!!
(P.S. Miss Independent picked out this outfit below all by herself. )
Kevin - Reese is definitely your little lovebug and gives you these great big smiles while saying Da-da over and over again each time you walk into a room!! You are so loved by all your girls!!
And to Bud, Sam, and my Dad - Happy Father's Day too! Dad, you are the best and I love all the time we spend together. Thank you for always supporting, loving, and making me laugh. You and I have a such a great relationship and it is wonderful to live so close. I love you and hope you know how special you are to me and my family! Here is a favorite picture from last week when my Dad was teaching Addison how to let go of balloons. Each time her reaction was priceless!
Addison calling out bye- bye to her balloon!
Next followed her three favorite words "Ohh my gosh!"
Addison got a kick out of it each and every time. This two year old has the most expressive little face! My Dad even talked her into tying up her new pet dog "Dolly" and sending her off to. Thankfully Dolly didn't go far but that doesn't stop this duo from trying.
And a side night - For the past couple of nights Addison has looked at the moon and yelled "look, look, balloon Mommy!" It makes me laugh and think of my Dad and all the things to come that he will help teach her! That makes me really excited but also a bit scared for those of you who know my Dad and his sense of humor. I have a feeling though that Addison is A LOT like me and therefore A LOT like my Dad!! xoxoxo

Tutu Cute!

Tutu Cute is right! Addison danced her little heart out on Sunday night at her recital with all her little friends. The dance company includes dancers from 18 months to high school so this recital is pretty big with over 80 dancers and 300-400 people were there to watch! Thankfully there were more participants this time around for her age group so I wasn't as embarrassed as I was back at the Christmas show! The mommy and me class performed a fun number together and all was going well until our little princess noticed she was on the big screen (there are two huge video monitors on the side of the stage)~ this stopped her dead in her tracks and she was in awe of herself for the remaining time on stage. She did manage to do a couple of moves and for that we are super proud of her! Although I go on stage with her for the first dance there are two other dances that she goes up with all the other kids. Not surprising but she loved it!
She bounced, clapped, and remembered all her moves!
Here she is with her sister after the show!
and then a picture of the whole family!
I was a little sad because I realized this is probably the last time we would be on stage together for a mommy and me performance! She is now a big girl and this summer we will start attending a new class were parents aren't allowed!
I loved having this time together with Addie. She is hilarious during her weekly classes and quite the little leader in her class. This is great except for the times when she choses to run across the floor, act like a monkey, or  not follow any directions!! However,  I am so happy to have been able to share this great experience with her. After the performance we headed back to our house to continue the celebration.
We ate a nice home-cooked meal with lots of sweet treats to follow!
Love this picture of the cake and the little hand hovering over it! It didn't take long for Addison to help herself to some frosting!
After a super busy weekend with Kayden's first birthday and hosting a shower for Auntie Magee this was a perfect way to end the festivities! Great job Twinkle Toes we are proud of you! Just in case you wanted one last look at this costume!! Trying to figure it out how to reuse it again!!
(maybe halloween?!?!)
This just makes me laugh :) I am pretty sure in about 20 years Addison will wonder what in the world I was doing dressing her like this!!

The Future Mrs. Omer !

Sunday was all about celebrating my beautiful soon to be Sister in-Law. When Billy proposed to Magee last year everyone was so excited for them and looking forward to the wedding and all the festivities surrounding their big day. Secretly, I think I was the happiest. I have been blessed with one awesome Sister- in- Law in Keivn's sister, Heather. And now my brother Billy made the Perfect choice in choosing his bride and soon Magee will officially join the family. I just love her!
The only thing is.. she is a little shy... and doesn't like the camera much

Hahahahha... SHY is one word that I would not use to describe this bride! But we did enjoy an afternoon of martini's, games, gifts, and lots of laughter. Who knew seeing someone open presents could be so entertaining to watch. Magee is so funny, makes everyone feel so comfortable, and is so genuine. This was a little box I made for her with some goodies in it and most importantly it was done with Laker colors! Go purple and yellow!
This is a sweet picture of the bride and her mom
and of course some friends!
This is Lauren and she is one of Magee's friends from Redondo! We meet over the bachelorette
weekend and let me tell you this girl is super fun! So happy she could make it!
I loved this heart shaped cake my mom picked out. It is decorated to look like the top of a Bride's dress! It was so pretty and was heaven to eat!
I didn't take lots of pictures because sometimes its nice to just be in the moment rather than stressing to get the perfect pictures! But it was a beautiful shower and wonderful to celebrate such a special person.  I love you M.K. and this is only the beginning of the festivities leading up to your big day with Billy. xoxoxox

Stage Five Climber....

No longer a clinger, Reese is now a climber!! For the past two days I have watched Reese stand up, sit down over and over again. At first with our stool and now with
Addison's red chair!

Today was the day though that she actually climbed right on the chair and stood up on it!! There is no picture because it looks way to dangerous! This super scared me so I moved quickly and put the red chair by our front door, I thought it would be ok there! However that didn't stop little Reese and before I knew it she was climbing up the stairs!
Push up position and ready to go!
Really?!? I know what you are thinking, how am I taking a picture of her and still close enough to catch her if she falls. This is about the 3rd or 4th time she practiced her new little trick and she is now a pro... who likes to stop and pose for pictures...(and for the record I really am close)
All of this climbing is hard work!
I couldn't believe it - she actually reached the top! Who knew she could climb one stair let along three big ones
Once on top - she got the prize!
Life is definitely going to be a little more busy with
 two active kiddo's!
Good Job Reese!
It wasn't that long ago that Addison was standing in that very position! Right about the same age, its amazing how fast things change! Love these two little adventurous girls
