Sweet Reese!

Reese is now 7 months old and growing and changing so much everyday. She is our beautiful second child with such a sweet, gentle, and happy spirit.  She has been the perfect addition to our family and it is only fitting that this Easter weekend, I stop and just be thankful.
I am so thankful for my relationship with God, my healthy family, and of course family and friends both near and far. Looking at these pictures stirs up so many emotions and reminds me of so many amazing moments in the last 7 months. The moment Kevin told she was a GIRL, (I know everyone thinks we are crazy for waiting BUT its so much fun!!)  the first time our small family of four sat in our first owned house together, the first time Addison said "Reese-ee" and the smile Reese gets when we tickle her under her chin or play with her chubby legs.
Reese is 16.5 pounds of laughter, 26 inches of wiggles, and is eating veggies and fruits each day. She desperately want to catch and play with her sister and is a master in rolling and scooting backwards. Reese is an explorer who is sitting and cooing more and more. A local photographer who did her newborn pictures, Carrie T,  recently needed a baby 6 months old to "model" some new headbands for a designer she works with. Reese was picked and I was so excited to get some fun professional shots of our girl! Both of the girls will be taking pictures together soon for the Spring - can't wait!
Just for fun - here are two more pictures that are a little more "daring" in the feather department.. but still so adorable and different! (if you are a fan of a hot pink and purple head dress look than this is the band for you)
Love you Sweet Reese
Happy Easter Weekend to everyone! We "hop" you have a great one!
xoxo

High-Low Spring Break!!

Spring Break has come and gone! I have put together a high- low to document just what us Jones' were up to! So lets begin - Keep up your feet Miss Addison because Mommy is home for a week!
High - With one week off with my girls that means sleeping in, reading the newspaper, enjoying my hot coffee without rushing,  staying in my p.j's until noon, actually working out, and having the time and energy to cook from a cookbook! Its painting projects, tea parties, princesses, and not to mention Mickey Mouseclub and Tinkerbell!

Low - Well we didn't exactly sleep. I can count at least  4 of the nights when all four of us were in bed together... and this happened in the wee hours of the morning (not so fun). We also did have two days of missed naps and for anyone who has been with a now two year old who hasn't napped its miserable - she is just overly exhausted and sensitive and whiny to everything!! This makes everyone involved want to cry!!Yikes :)
High - Ohh yeah!! You guessed it - potty training in style. Please look closely because yes those are heels and yes she is holding a purse not to mention having a tea party!  Back in December I had decided that Spring Break was potty training time. I enlisted the advice of my teacher friends and of course my mom for the BEST way to do it. So many thoughts but I knew this was go time and we were committed to the process. I am happy to report that she is doing all her business in the potty - she didn't have any accidents today, wahooo!! She is doing great and those diapers will be long gone soon and only fancy undies for this little princess.

Low - the accidents stink - literally... For the first two days I felt like it was non-stop and she would either tell me after the fact or during the fact. Not sure what was worse!! Also the false alarms - I felt like a mad woman every time she uttered the words "Mommy - pee pee" I would make a dash for the toilet with her only to be left there watching and waiting and she would say looking straight at me with a serious/ puzzled look "no pee-pee." urgghhhh... Then came the bribe - we used jelly beans and m&m's.. At one point I really think she was holding a little only to tell me three minutes later that she had to go again just to get more candy!! And if it wasn't a total false alarm she would just toot on the toilet and say all done, does that count! I wasn't sure with this gray area if she really did deserve a piece of candy.. Ohh well.. And one more thing - make sure Mommy and Daddy are on board with the same number of jelly beans. Mommy gives one and Daddy gives three or more, I need to do a better job in training HIM :)
But all in all it was very successful and I am looking forward to having only one baby in diapers.

High - Kevin and I enjoyed a date day in the middle of the week. We dropped the kids off and headed to Santa Monica. We ate sushi, shopped along the beach, and just enjoyed each other's company. It was perfect weather and so wonderful to get to hang out with my husband all day.

Low - didn't take any pictures - the camera wasn't allowed per Dr. Jones' orders.

High - Kevin and I organized and cleaned every room, drawer, and closet in the house. This spring cleaning was hardcore and we so needed it. It took about two days to get things where they needed to be.

Low - It took Addison about 5 minutes of being unsupervised to find her and Reese's Easter Baskets in the closet and then do this....

High - Addison and Reese went to their check up's this week and are both very healthy. My only question for the doctor was for Addison and had to do with the Dentist. He said not to worry but to keep brushing her teeth each day and night and at age 2 and a half or 3 she can start going. That was music to my ears! So I made a big emphasis that night about brushing our teeth and having healthy teeth - she seemed to go along with it and wasn't fighting me. Especially when it came to my turn - her turn brushing of the teeth.

Low - the next morning she reached and found mommy's toothpaste on the counter and made her way to the stairs...  With each bump down the stairs on her bottom she squeezed toothpaste all over the carpet... She is an awesome dot painter and now she can add toothpaste painter to her resume. (sooooooo gross to clean up ) but on the bright side our stairs smell very fresh and minty.

High - Reese is playing, giggling, scooting, and practicing her sitting with such sweet smiles and ease. I love watching her discover new toys and sounds. Its so fun to just stop and introduce her to new things.

Low - I put away her 3-6 month clothing away. She is growing up too fast!!

High - Spending time with these lovable girls

Low - going back to work on Monday - (only 6 more weeks then home for the summer and then working part time..yieppeeee)
These were just a few of the high-low moments of the week. We did have a great visit with Uncle Billy and Auntie Magee in Redondo and with Omie and Grand-Dad for dinner and fun walks... but really we were home-bodies for much of the week. Looking forward to a great week full of new discoveries, fun surprises, less potty accidents, more cooking, more exercise and less sweets! - love to all that reads this blog and is keeping up with the jones'  xoxoxoxo

Working Mama!

This is a post for any mommy that in any given moment has about a zillion things running through her head. My sister-in-law Heather is amazing. She seems to be able to do it all and I love that about her! She cooks like Martha Stewart, her house would make Nate Berkus jealous, and she always looks fabulous on top of that! When Kevin got this email from her I knew I needed to share it with my fellow blogging Moms! Because I know you can understand and appreciate it...Heather, I love you like a sister and this just made me smile! This is what her morning looked like, she is a super brilliant lawyer and not to mention has the cutest baby girl Lila!! Enjoy everyone....This is in her words....
So, I'm rushing off to court. I have to get Lila up, fed, changed, & ready to go to my mom's. Her 6 mos checkup is today, and I'm in court so Sam & my mom are handling & I needed to get Lila ready, write a list of questions/issues and make sure Sam knows where her immunization card.  I am rushing around to get myself ready for court. I jump in the car with Lila. I get her to my mom's. On my way out, I'm walking down the driveway headed to my car to jam off to court. And I think to myself, "why is my right foot and toes cold?". And this is what I found looking down...

Fish-eeee!

Addison officially has her first pet. His name is Fish-eee (I know original)  but she loves him so much. Each morning she greets him with a squeal of delight  and eagerly feeds him saying over and over again, "Fish-ee eat, Fishe-ee eat!" She is  constantly saying hi to him throughout the day, and I am crossing my fingers each time that he is still alive!
Because if I were to be honest we had some casualties this week with a couple of Fish-ee's friends and relatives (8 to be exact)... Here is a picture of Fish-ee, our lone survivior! When I noticed the dead fish I knew I had to act quickly and take them to their resting place (the toliet) without a certain little girl seeing me. I knew I was caught when I heard a little voice behind me say "Fish-ee go pee-pee Mommy." And all I could think of was that I didn't want to traumatize her, this was her first pet!!... So I said yes! and what does any pottery training toddler respond with. Yeahhhhh and clapped for them... So cute but so sad. What makes it worst is the last couple of days when she goes to see the fish in the morning she looks in the toliet :( Hopefully our little Fish-ee friend in the bowl beats the odds and lives a very long time!
