Happy Birthday Reese!

Happy Birthday Reese!
One year ago we welcomed our second little daughter, Reese Mardel, into our family. She was a healthy, petite, lovable little ball of sweetness. Labor was a mere 23 hours and when Kevin told me it was a GIRL, and we saw her for the first time, we were in love once again!

Life quickly changed with two but at the same time felt so incredibly wonderful and normal. Reese is unique and has quite the personality. She is a cuddle bug and when she wants to nuzzle she will hit her head on your chest trying to "carve" out the perfect spot for her little head. Here are pictures from September - December!

She giggles and laughs at peek- a- boo, when you tickle her legs, or when you are being super silly when reading a book. Reese is a dancer who shakes and moves to any song and is a fan of Barney and Elmo. Pushing things can frustrate her, especially when she hits a dead end... and she prefers her sippy cup with a straw to her "baby" bottle.

Reese talks a language that only her sister can understand and is perfectly content yelling MaMa and DaDa until whatever she wants to get done is Done. Climbing stairs is her hobby and if you chase her or say no she will smile and then go Faster! I love her four stubby teeth and the wrinkle in her nose when she thinks something is super funny. She is still in 9-12 month clothing and can wiggle out of a diaper with such quickness and determination.

One of her favorite times of the day seems to be when she has Mom and Dad alone at 5:30 in the morning. She grins from ear to ear traveling back and forth to kiss (open mouth wet slobber) her Mommy and Daddy. It cracks her up and is the best start of the day for us. I love the way she still will fall asleep on my chest and they way she sleeps through the night! Yiepee. Reese has spoiled us with her gentle spirit and loving heart for one whole year. I could talk about the joy she has brought to our life for days! I want time to stand still... and I try my best to cherish each and everyday I spend with Baby Reese! Two healthy and happy girls is a dream come true and have brought Kevin and I more happiness then we could have dreamed.
I definitely don't remember what life was like with less then four in our family and can't wait to see what the new year brings. Happy 1st Birthday Reese! We love you birthday girl!
